#SaveLondonMusic - Important venues in the London Borough of Barnet

Yesterday we launched our #SaveLondonMusic campaign. We are urging everyone to support our campaign. We are asking you to support musicians, live music and venues that enable London to be the world Capital of music. Many people simply think of live music as seeing a mega band at a huge stadium, an experience that will cost the best part of £100, if not more. Whilst these can be fantastic experiences, the best gigs are usually to be had in small intimate local venues and they usually cost very little.

The London Borough of Barnet has some great venues. Whilst the West End and Camdeen are recognised as centres for live music, we have a great music scene on our doorstep. So why not check some of these establishments out. Many of the smaller venues and pubs are free entry, so it will just cost you the price of a pint!

The Three Wishes - Edgware - http://thethreewishes-edgware.com/ - This is a great pub with a full on commitment to music. Tonights band are The Looters who are a full on Rythm and Blues outfit, which will do the business for anyone who likes The Feelgoods and their Genre of music.

The Chandos Arms - Colindale  - http://www.thechandosarms.com/#!livemusic/cz1w - Since taking over last August, Landord Emily Ovenden has transformed the pub. There are regular Jazz and Folk nights along with comedy and some one off specials, featuring top line acts  such as Lee Thompson from Madness.

The Arts Depot - North Finchley - https://www.artsdepot.co.uk/whats-on - Barnets premiere venue, with a great program of music, drama, comedy and other arts. Tonight we have  The Cadillac Kings

The Misty Moon in Barnet is also a great music pub. It doesn't have a website (as best as I can see). It has  regular band nights and a legendary open mic night on a Sunday. There is a decent review on Lemonrock http://www.lemonrock.com/mistymoonbarnet

The Mill Hill Golf club is also doing its bit, hosting the Wednesday night Mill Hill Jazz Club - http://www.millhilljazzclub.co.uk/ - who host the amazing Anita Wardell this Wednesday.

The Adam and Eve in Mill Hill are also hosting regular live music http://www.adamandevemillhill.co.uk/events/ and does excellent food and beer.

And whilst we are in Mill Hill, lets not forget North West Londons largest music rehearsal and recording studios https://www.millhillmusiccomplex.co.uk/

Of course there are many more pubs etc hosting music. We can't get around all of them, so please add any you know in the comments. It is important to support these establishments and any others which are helping us build Barnet into one of the centres of the London Music Scene.

There is also Guns & Smoke in High Barnet - restaurant with regular live music. Ye Olde Mitre Inn features some excellent music. And I do believe that The Old Monken Holte still does music, also the Black Horse is having regular jazz. Probably a few others as well, so there's life in the olde borough yet:-)
