The Don't Call Me Dave Xmas Reunion Tour : Here we are and here we are and here we go !

The Status Quo of Barnet Blogging, Don't Call Me Dave (Barnets most sensible Tory) has just announced his Xmas Blog tour. You may recall that he's retired from blogging 16 times this year. I for one am delighted that he has more relapses than Shane MacGowan !

My name is Don’t Call Me Dave and I’m a blogaholic!

My main blog is now www.verbumsapienti.org.uk which is related to my studies, but if time allows and there is something useful I can say on NTBT that someone else has not already said, then I will. But I won’t be writing too much about football again as this was one of my least popular postings of the year!

I am delighted that DCMD has started blogging again, again, again.

The reason may be that he realises we "live in interesting times". The world economy and the decline of the west, the role of banks and finance and the response of governments, worldwide state budget cuts and the threat of sovereign defaults, the possible collapse of world trade and the size of Brian Coleman's Christmas hamper from a company that the London Fire and Rescue Service likes very much indeed,...

There are interesting media reports today of an ex-Barnet officer moving to Suffolk county council and enjoying two trips to the US, courtesy of BT. As a matter of co-incidence, Suffolk has a 10-year outsourcing contract with BT.

Now let's see. Who else has been a beneficiary of BT's generosity in that respect?

Mr Mike Freer used to be council leader of the London Borough of Barnet.

Did Mr Freer also obtain a free trip to the US, courtesy of BT?

I see that BT says "The flights were part of a public service training programme that is widely attended by chief executives (and presumably others) in local government."
